Here and there

      Here and there
 would you have seen it
 pretty wood ferret
the man in the mouse-gray finery.

 Here and there
 as of course
 a day of green buds
 they found paradise.

 Here and there
 Like nothing ever happened
 took themselves to court
 on the couch of principles.

 Here and there
 in return for a stroll
 sunnamite laughter
have snuffed out what will be said.

 Foam of good days
 at the carnival of apostrophes
they hobbled on the path of fragrant herbs
to push in front of them the cart of offerings
 kings and queens
these fifrelins with the gaillarde bagpipes
 when it was cold outside
to split stone in the meadow of Lacombe.
